How do I join AATP?
In order to become an AATP tutor, you must attend an info session at the beginning of the semester before the first site or talk to a director. The session will introduce you to AATP and give an overview of the expectations and responsibilities of being a tutor. No prior experience or application is necessary.

Do I need to be Asian?
Of course not! Our name is a legacy from 1969 when AATP was first established. Back then, most residents in Chinatown were Asian American immigrants. Today we continue to serve the same community, however the demographics are now largely South-East Asian and Latin American.
How can I become a director?
All directors of AATP start off as interns. For one year, interns shadow current directors and learn the various responsibilities that keep our program running. The objective of the internship is to familiarize future directors with the ins and outs of the program, from making worksheet packets to attending meetings, as well as coordinating lessons for the kids. The internship is also a great opportunity to get to know the current directors and fellow tutors.
Anyone with at least one quarter experience with AATP is encouraged to apply! Just let any of our directors know that you are interested, and we will advise you from there. It's a great opportunity to build leadership skills and get more involved with AATP!
